Why Should I? “To raise awareness”

Education plays a big part in shaping who we are. Undeniably, the future of Malaysia lies in the hands of the young generation today. On this basis, I believe that children are entitled to the best education, whereby they can learn to open up their minds to all the knowledge in the world and acquire values that will shape them to become upright individuals who can lead. Such entitlement should not be limited to one’s socioeconomic status, because every child deserves it. Sadly, not all children have this opportunity.

As a Fellow, I will be able to help provide them with such opportunity, hence playing a part in overcoming the education inequity in Malaysia. With the right commitment that is aligned with Teach For Malaysia’s vision, and through the intensive training provided, I believe that I will not become a teacher who only teaches. Instead, I will become an educator who contributes in transforming students’ lives. I hope that children get the opportunity to learn and be educated, and I hope to bring out the best in them.

Through this, I hope to raise awareness on the education inequity in Malaysia and prove that this issue can be addressed, thus convincing Malaysians to take part in this movement of change.

This HELP University graduate hopes “to raise awareness on the education inequity in Malaysia and prove that this issue can be addressed, thus convincing Malaysians to take part in this movement of change.”
