The Teach For Malaysia Fellowship
Fellows under the Teaching Partner Pathway are employed by Teach For Malaysia for a duration of two (2) years, and placed in high-need schools around Malaysia. Fellows under this pathway have the opportunity to collaborate with existing teachers (a.k.a. Guru Hos/ Host Teachers) to enhance classroom environment & outcomes for students with varying backgrounds and learning capabilities.
Throughout the 2 years, Fellows will spend 50% of their time focused on classroom teaching, 30% on community engagement projects, and 20% on personal & professional development with Teach For Malaysia.
Eligibility
To be eligible to join, you must:
- Be a Malaysian citizen below 40 years of age
- Hold an accredited Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Have strong verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia communication skills
- Be a graduate from a local or overseas university
- Have a strong academic track record
Contract of Service (COS) Pathway
About COS
Note: Application to this pathway is closed.
- Engage in a teaching role with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and contract through Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Pendidikan (SPP)
- You will be placed in schools/regions subjected to MOE’s vacancies
- You will be working towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Education by Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia (IPGM) to be a fully qualified teacher upon completion of Fellowship
- At the end of 2 years, you will have the opportunity to apply to continue staying in the education system as Teaching Alumni
Eligibility
To be eligible to join, you must:
- Be a Malaysian citizen, aged 32 years or younger at the start of the Fellowship
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Have strong verbal and written English and Bahasa Melayu communication skills
- Possess a minimum credit (C) for Bahasa Melayu in SPM
- Be a graduate from a local public or overseas university recognised by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and Ministry of Education (MOE)
- Have a strong academic track record
Teaching Partner Pathway
About TPP
Note: Applications are open here.
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance classroom environment for students with varying learning capabilities.
- You will be placed in high need areas as recommended by Teach For Malaysia.
- At the end of 2 years, you will create impact in education though TFM Alumni Network.
